MCGREEVEY’S ‘POOR’ EXCUSE FOR A $ETTLEMENT

“She gets nothing!”

That’s what Jim McGreevey’s lawyer Stephen Haller bellowed yesterday after Dina Matos made a bid for a $51,000-a-year support payout from the gay former New Jersey gov during closing arguments in their nasty divorce showdown in Union County family court.

Not only is Matos “not entitled” to alimony for her four-year marriage, her estranged hubby “can’t afford to pay it,” Haller said.

Since their November 2005 separation, McGreevey has already forked over $110,000 in support payments to his wife.

But Matos’ lawyer, John Post, blasted McGreevey’s claims of poverty.

He said McGreevey, who makes $48,000 teaching and lecturing, won’t look for higher-paying work.

“He has chosen to put himself in a position where he can’t pay,” Post argued, noting that McGreevey earned an average $207,000 from 2005 through 2007.
