UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Reserved parking spots near the front entrance of some Long Island office buildings are being reserved for the drivers of environmentally friendly hybrid automobiles.
Scott Rechler of RexCorp Realty LLC says the hybrids will be getting preferential treatment as part of the company’s green initiative.
The first of the hybrid spots debuted Tuesday outside RexCorp’s offices in Hauppaugue and its Omni Building in Uniondale.
The company is one of the largest owners, managers and developers in the New York area with over 70 properties. Rechler says plans are in the works for hybrid spots at other locations.
