A-Rod verdict remains days away: sources

Alex Rodriguez’s fate probably won’t be known until next week.

According to industry sources, arbitrator Fredric Horowitz likely will wait at least a few more days before issuing a ruling on the Yankees third baseman, who faces a potential 211-game suspension by MLB for his alleged involvement with Biogenesis.

Initially, there was some thought Horowitz could make his ruling Thursday or Friday, but that now seems unlikely. Rodriguez’s camp had not been notified as of Thursday that a decision was forthcoming and did not expect anything to “come from out of the blue” before the end of the week.

Horowitz concluded his hearings in November. On the penultimate day, Rodriguez stormed out of the hearings angry that commissioner Bud Selig was not forced to testify.
