CHRIS NOTH TO LEAVE ‘L&0: CI’

CHRIS Noth is leaving “Law & Order” – again.

His replacement, film star Jeff Goldblum, will join the cast next this fall.

Noth will not return to “Law & Order: CI” next season and has just two episodes left that will air. “Jeff’s presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show,” show creator Dick Wolf said.

On the “L&O” spin-off, he has played Det. Mike Logan, a gritty New York cop. He appeared in alternate episodes with Vincent D’Onofrio’s character.

While Noth joined “CI” in its fifth season in 2005, his character first appeared in 1988 as one of the original cops on “Law & Order.” He left that show in 1995.

“I’ve been in the ‘Law & Order’ franchise a long time,” Noth told the Post yesterday. “Let’s just say I’ve pretty much squeezed all the juice out of that role.”

Noth says the split was “totally mutual.”

“The show keeps morphing and always finds new people,” he says. “I’m gonna miss everyone I work with every day.”

“Chris has been a member of the ‘Law & Order’ family since the beginning, and Mike Logan is one of the most popular detectives in the history of television,” Wolf says. “We all wish him the best.”
