NEW TARNISH MARS BADGE

The probe of Queens narcotics officers accused of wrongful arrests is another black mark on an NYPD bureau already seriously tarnished.

The latest flap to hit the Organized Crime Control Bureau – revealed in The Post today – involves a botched “buy-and-bust” operation on Jan. 4 in which undercover officers allegedly framed two brothers and their friends at Elmhurst bar and restaurant Club Delicioso.

The NYPD placed a detective and an officer on modified duty Wednesday night, according to sources. Another detective is now with the Nassau County police.

In January, the OCCB took a hit when Queens detective Wayne Taylor was busted for pimping teen girls, authorities said.

The OCCB’s problems have persisted recently.

* In January, Brooklyn South Narcotics Detective Sean Johnstone and Officer Jullo Alvarez were caught allegedly keeping drugs seized in arrests. A probe led to the arrests of Sgt. Michael Arenella and Officer Jerry Bowens.

* In March, a Queens Narcotics detective was suspended after shooting at an unarmed man and woman. Though no one was injured, the incident was a reminder of the Sean Bell shooting by a Queens Vice unit.

* A month ago, a Manhattan South Narcotics sergeant was suspended after owners of a club the unit raided accused him of stealing from their register, according to sources. Footage shows the sergeant behind a cashier and picking an unidentified item off the ground.

Scandals have added up in the past two years.

Manhattan South Vice has faced allegations of forged arrest affidavits, and in 2006, 40 Brooklyn South Vice officers were transferred after accusations some used stolen electronics in the station house.
