A-ROD’S WIFE HURLS SPLITTER

Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce from hubby A-Rod in a Miami court this morning.

She alleged infidelity in her Miami-Dade County Family Court filing. She said Rodriguez has “emotionally abandoned his wife and children.”

“The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the Husband’s extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct,” it said in the divorce filing.

A-Rod ‘Brainwashed’ By Madonna

Kabbalah ‘Clean$ing’ To Follow

It had been reported last week that the Yankee’s star had a relationship with Madonna, and was seen making late-night visits to her Central Park West apartment.

As Madonna took the unusual step of issuing a public statement denying any romantic involvement with A-Rod, his wife – described by a pal as on the verge of a “nervous breakdown” – rounded up a pricey team of lawyers to file for divorce in Miami, where she has been staying in her family’s home with the couple’s two daughters, Natasha, 31/2, and Ella, 3 months.

One of C-Rod’s lawyers, Maurice Kutner, told The Post last night that A-Rod’s “relationship with Madonna was the latest situation in a series of events” that doomed the marriage.

The lawyer said last year’s Stray-Rod incident with a buxom stripper, and now Madonna, have been traumatic for C-Rod.

“It’s huge, it’s devastating, it’s life-changing,” Kutner said. “It’s caused her tremendous stress, and she’s doing the best she can to deal with it.

“Mrs. Rodriguez feels like she’s been emotionally abandoned by Alex. That’s the driving force behind her decision.”

In the divorce papers, C-Rod asked for primary custody of the couple’s two children as well as financial support to maintain their “lavish lifestyle,” including sole ownership of their Coral Gables, Fla., home and “equitable assets” of A-Rod’s earnings during their marriage.

A-Rod earns $28 million a year as a third baseman for the Yankees.

C-Rod’s legal team is being rounded out by lawyers Earle Lilly and John Van Ness of Houston and Anthony Sabatino, who, like Kutner, is from Miami.

Lilly has experience taking on Yankees. He helped Hall of Fame outfielder Dave Winfield’s baby mama win a $1.6 million judgment in a common-law marriage lawsuit against him. Cynthia bolted to the side of rocker pal Lenny Kravitz in Paris – with A-Rod‘s knowledge – after the reports about her hubby and Madonna surfaced, a family confidant said.

“I brought her [to Europe] to get her out of [the United States] because she was going to have a nervous breakdown,” said A-Rod‘s former trainer, Dodd Romero, who is also godfather to the couple’s children.

A-Rod “told her, ‘Go, go, go, stay for four or five days,’ ” Romero told The Post.

“I spoke to her about the divorce,” he said. “She’s devastated, she’s in shock and awe about all of this.”

Meanwhile Madonna publicly insisted that she’s not playing around with A-Rod.

“I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez,” Madonna said in a statement released by her publicist.

She added that despite reports, her marriage to filmmaker Guy Ritchie is fine.

“My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce,” Madonna said.
