A chill was in the air as A-Rod was briefly reunited with his wife and daughter in Toronto yesterday.
As the Yankee slugger took his estranged wife and daughter out to dinner last night, Cynthia Rodriguez gave him a cold shoulder as they got out of their SUV at Ruth’s Chris steak house.
After the Yankees’ 9-4 win over the Blue Jays, the superstar slugger spent about 45 minutes with his soon-to-be ex-wife and their 3-year-old daughter in Cynthia’s 15th-floor suite at the Park Hyatt hotel.
As the family rode the elevator to the lobby, A-Rod tried playing the doting husband, affectionately patting Cynthia’s cold shoulders and smiling as Natasha jumped up and down and talked to her doll.
But the couple said nothing during their descent.
A-Rod bundled Natasha into a black Escalade for their ride to the restaurant.
As they got out of the SUV, a seemingly irritated Cynthia lifted Natasha from the car and held her close.
Inside the steak house, the trio – along with a security guard – dined by themselves in a private room.
It was A-Rod’s second visit with his daughter yesterday. Before the game the all-star third-baseman was spotted slipping up to Cynthia’s room for about an hour to see his daughter before the game.
It was the first time the three had been seen together since the scandal linking A-Rod to Madonna erupted almost two weeks ago.
Cynthia went to Paris to clear her head, staying at the home of rocker Lenny Kravitz as news broke that A-Rod had been making late-night visits to Madonna’s Central Park West apartment.
Cynthia reportedly found a letter in which her husband called Madonna his “soul mate.”
A-Rod and Madonna are said to share the same kabbalah teacher, Eitan Yardeni.
Cynthia, who believes A-Rod has been “brainwashed” as he’s gotten closer to Madonna and more immersed in the Judaic cult, filed for divorce last Monday.
It’s not the first time Madonna has drafted someone into the ancient practice.
In his memoir, “Life With My Sister Madonna,” Christopher Ciccone said his now-estranged sister brought him into the sect. He would join her, Demi Moore, Lucy Liu and others for parties that rotated from house to house.
They studied topics that included Finding Your Soul Mate – the very task A-Rod is said to have been working on when he professed his love for Madonna – as well as Making Money and Speaking Ill of Other People.
