REGGIE: JEW STEW ISN’T FAIR

Yankee legend Reggie Jackson yesterday insisted he doesn’t have a problem with Jewish people – and said there was nothing derogatory about his comments to an artist as they haggled over the price of a painting.

“It’s just a misunderstanding,” the Hall-of-Famer told The Post.

“[The artist is] Jewish, I’m a minority, let’s hook up and be tight and have a little action together,” Jackson explained in a phone interview.

“That’s me talking to him. It’s just like, ‘Let’s stick together. Let’s be tight. We should be tight.’

“Minorities are minorities. [Dissing a Jewish person is] just not who I am. I am a minority. I don’t do that. I don’t go there.”

Jackson was overheard by a Post lensman Sunday asking artist Peter Zonis, “Are you Jewish?”

When the photographer asked him why he said that, the former Yankee slugger shot back, “You Jewish, too?” He then said that the artist, “is always working me.”
