WIFE’S PLAYING ‘TAPS’ FOR A-ROD

Scorned baseball wife Cynthia Rodriguez wants to know if her estranged hubby, A-Rod, had her wiretapped and secretly tailed, according to explosive new court documents.

At the end of a largely routine request for financial documents, computer records, property reports and medical bills, C-Rod dropped a legal bomb that accuses Alex Rodriguez of stealing signs.

Lawyers for the soon-to-be Yankee ex-wife demanded “any reports you have received from a detective, investigator or any other person based upon surveillance of your spouse.”

“All written memorabilia, reports and photographs submitted to you or your attorney by any person other than yourself,” C-Rod’s lawyers also requested in documents filed in a Florida court.

“All tape recordings and other evidence prepared from tape recordings made in connection with any wiretapping or electronic surveillance conducted by you or others on your behalf.”

Famed New York divorce lawyer Raoul Felder said Cynthia Rodriguez’s lawyers wouldn’t have made the stunning request without a real belief A-Rod spied on his wife.

“This is very interesting,” Felder said.

“All those other things, financial records, tax records, are ordinary – but this is very out of the ordinary.”

It’s not clear which side could benefit from the alleged snooping.

“It doesn’t look good for him on first blush, that he might have had his wife followed,” Felder said.

“But if she has nothing to hide, why would she care? This could cut either way.”

A spokesman for A-Rod – who is starting at third base for the American League in tonight’s All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium – could not be reached for comment.

Alex and Cynthia Rodriguez both filed for divorce in Miami – the couple’s off-season home – last week.

Cynthia has said through court papers and her lawyers that her husband is a habitual cheater.

The last straw came earlier this month, when news broke that Rodriguez had been playing late-night, extra-innings games at Madonna’s Upper West Side pad.

Last night, A-Rod was on his best behavior at a an All-Star party he hosted at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club, hanging with his mom and Madonna’s best pal, Ingrid Casares.

Nearby was a bevy of bodacious babes waiting expectantly for him to look their way. But the only sign of Madonna was when the deejay spun the pop star’s ancient 1980’s hits “Holiday,” and “Material Girl.” The Yankee batswain appeared unfazed.

Meanwhile, at another All-Star-related party, ex-Yank Jim Leyritz, who killed a woman in Florida in an alleged DWI wreck last December, made a sheepish appearance.
