DAUGHTER-NAPPING ROCKEFAKER FINALLY IDENTIFIED

BERGEN, Germany – The mystery of Clark Rockefeller’s true identity has finally been solved: he is really Bavarian born Christian Gerhartsreiter, his brother said today.

Looking at a picture of the man the world knows as Clark Rockefeller, Alexander Gerhartsreiter told The Post, “Yes, that is him.”

Gerhartsreiter said his older brother left this alpine village near Munich in Upper Bavaria at age 17 in 1978 when he moved to the United States as a foreign exchange student. He remained in contact with his family until 1986, when letters from him stopped coming.

The family had no idea what had happened or how to get a hold of him.

“My brother is like stranger to me,” Alexander said.

He said his family never knew that Christian had married or had a child.

When told that his brother had appeared to pull off a stunning con by posing under phony identities all over the United States for years – most notably as a relative of the famed industrialist family – he was not surprised.

“As far as I remember, Christian was an open-minded and social person and he was able persuade people very well,” he said.

Rockefeller’s mysterious past came under scrutiny when he kidnapped his 7-year-old daughter Reigh “Snooks” Boss off a Boston street on July 27.

After he was busted a week later in Baltimore, and the girl found unharmed, authorities connected him via fingerprints to a man known as Christopher Chichester who was wanted for questioning in the 1985 disappearance of a newlywed couple in San Marino, Calif.
