MCCAIN: SARAH KNOWS MO’ THAN O

ST. LOUIS – John McCain claimed that his running mate – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin – is more qualified to be president than Barack Obama.

“As governor, she has enormous responsibilities, none of which Senator Obama had. When she was in government, he was a community organizer,” McCain said on Fox News Sunday.

“When she was taking tough positions against her own party, Senator Obama was voting ‘present’ 130 times in the state Legislature. On every tough issue, whatever it was, she was taking them on. That’s the kind of judgment that I’m confident that we need in Washington,” McCain said.

McCain – who called Palin his political “soulmate” – insisted that Palin, unlike Obama, was not “dangerously unprepared.”

He said that Palin supported the 2007 troop surge in Iraq and Obama did not.

Obama responded on Saturday: “I feel confident about my choice. I’ll let John McCain talk about his.”

Asked if his selection of Palin as his vice-presidential nominee was a bid to win over female voters and Hillary Clinton voters, McCain said, “She’s going to help me with all Americans.”
