JOE STEM-CELL SLAP AT SARAH

Joe Biden yesterday took a swipe at Sarah Palin – who has a child with Down syndrome – for opposing stem-cell research, an attack that provoked howls of protest from Republicans.

“I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy . . . and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect,” Biden said when questioned at a town-hall meeting in Missouri.

“Well, guess what, folks? If you care about it, why don’t you support stem-cell research?”

John McCain‘s camp said Biden had “sunk to a new low.”

Meanwhile, McCain launched a withering attack ad on Obama’s education record yesterday – claiming the Illinois Democrat’s only accomplishment was voting for legislation to teach sex education to kindergartners.

“Learning about sex before learning to read. Barack Obama. Wrong on education. Wrong for your family,” the announcer states in the 30-second spot to air in battleground states.
