Running on blood, sweat, tears and pure instinct, in this real life David vs. Goliath struggle to keep their business and family together, the Cutter family will do whatever it takes to keep the Ohio-based Cutter Oil Company afloat as they take on big oil in this race for black gold. Founded by Charles “Chuck” and Beth Cutter, the company consists of their sons CJ, Josh and Shawn, daughter Kristin and her husband, Ray Anthony. Once a thriving family operated oil business, Cutter Oil was suddenly overcome by the recent and untimely death of the company’s patriarch, Chuck. Plain Jane’s revenge

No one with a television has been able to escape the media’s fascination of the gruesome Jodi Arias murder trial. The 32-year-old was recently found guilty of shredding her lover, Travis Alexander, like a head of lettuce. The slit throat, the 27 additional stab wounds, the bullet to the head. While investigating the killing, Mesa, Ariz., police retrieved a digital camera from Alexander’s washing machine, revealing shocking images authorities claim Arias took during their sexual escapades, as well as during and after his murder. While Jodi pled not guilty and contends she killed Alexander in self-defense, police concluded that when he broke off their relationship, she stalked her ex-boyfriend and seduced him one final time before murdering him. Tania Raymonde plays Arias, Jesse Lee Soffer is the unfortunate Travis. David Zayas is Detective Esteban Flores and Tony Plana (“Ugly Betty”) portrays Prosecutor Juan Martinez.

JODI ARIAS: DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

Saturday, 8 p.m., Lifetime

Mother’s little helper

Jackie (Edie Falco) is celebrating her one-year anniversary of sobriety and she’s in the mood to celebrate. Maybe too much in the mood, especially after having a fight with her new boyfriend (Adam Ferrara) and another with her daughter Grace. Zoey (Merritt Wever) and Prentiss (Morris Chestnut) act very professionally at work after sleeping together once. Carrie (Betty Gilpin) finds herself in trouble for her behavior at work. Later, Jackie and her boyfriend make up and she nonchalantly finds the narcotic she hid in a ring box, en route to her celebration, where there is a surprise guest.

NURSE JACKIE

Tonight, 9 p.m., Showtime

California dreamin’

Tom (Chris O’Dowd, left) arrives in Los Angeles to stay with his American cousins, Al (Ed Begley Jr.) and Kitty Chadwick (Carrie Aizley), and to discover why his great-great-grandfather Charles left for England more than a hundred years ago. Al has invited two other cousins — Rick (Matt Griesser), who also lives in California, and Dave (Christopher Guest), who’s on a road trip from North Carolina — to a family barbecue. With Rick’s girlfriend, Julie (Maria Blasucci), and Al’s neighbor, Mike (Fred Willard), rounding out the party, everyone gets to know each other a little better, and they put their heads together to figure out how the family ended up having branches in both the US and England. As the drinks flow, inhibitions are dropped, and ice is not the only thing that gets broken underneath the California sun.

Only one ‘Voice’ can win

It’s been an emotional season on “The Voice,” television’s top talent show. The Mark Burnett extravaganza welcomed two new, judges, Shakira and Usher, who were not as colorful as their predecessors, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, but they worked well with the kids. The final eight delivered some wonderful, mostly women singers: heavy favorite Danielle Bradbery (from Team Blake), Judith Hill, Michelle Chamuel and Sasha Allen, among others. The Swan Brothers were the only men. They’ve been pared down since then. With the return of Green and Aguilera for next season already announced, we can only wonder which team will producer this year’s winner of the show.
