THOMPSON’S SPENDING SPREE

City Comptroller Bill Thompson spent three times as much as he raised in the past two months in his effort to unseat billionaire Mayor Bloomberg, records released yesterday show.

Thompson, the presumptive Democratic nominee, raised $200,711 and spent $637,147 between May 11 and July 11, the city Campaign Finance Board reported yesterday.

In total, he has raised more than $5.3 million and spent nearly $2.4 million in the mayoral race.

Bloomberg is opting out of public campaign financing.
