Who’s fierce (and false) at Fashion Week

Life is a hot tranny mess for Christian Siriano these days. And that’s a good thing. (Check the glossary below.) The “Project Runway” winner and Tim Gunn-declared prodigy just showed his second spring collection at Fashion Week and is now knee-deep in buyer’s appointments. Add to that dressing “30 Rock” star Katrina Bowden for the Emmys; debuting a killer line of cheap-chic platforms for Payless and releasing his first book, “Fierce Style: How To Be Your Most Fabulous Self,” and you’ve got one hard-working Ferocia Coutura. (Again, check the glossary.)

Clad in plaid on a rainy morning in the Garment District, Christian let us into his organza ruffle-stuffed showroom to talk Fashion Week — who was fierce and who was false. Let the tickity talk begin.

Siriano Slang

Ferocia Coutura

“Ferocia Coutura is that inner diva that everyone has. When someone doubts my fierceness, Ferocia Coutura sprays them in the eye with her secret weapon — hair spray. (Aveda Air Control, just like I use!)”

Hot Mess vs. Hot Tranny Mess

“When you’re a hot mess you don’t deserve to be a hot tranny mess because if you’re a hot tranny mess, that means you’re extra-fabulous. Because you’re diva’d out. So when you’re a hot mess, you’re a mess with potential. But when you’re a hot tranny mess, you’re kinda fabulous! And a mess. All at the same time.”

Fierce

“It’s just a state of being. The high point of being flawless and fabulous.”

Ferosh

“The state of being when something is totally fabulous but not necessarily fierce. It’s often something you do, such as styling your hair a certain way.”

Tickity Tack

“A cooler way to communicate the idea that something is tacky.”

For more Christian-isms and tips, his book, “Fierce Style: How To Be Your Most Fabulous Self,” comes out Oct. 5.
