Jets bring back QB Quinn on non-guaranteed deal

The Jets re-signed quarterback Brady Quinn on Monday in an expected move.

The team released him Saturday so that his $715,000 contract would not become guaranteed for the season. Now, the Jets can pay him week-to-week. He is not expected to remain with the team if Mark Sanchez is able to return from his shoulder injury.

Quinn, a seven-year veteran, gives the Jets an experienced backup behind Geno Smith and Matt Simms.

To clear a roster spot, the Jets waived linebacker Danny Lansanah. They also signed wide receiver Rahsaan Vaughn to the practice squad.
