Three firefighters injured in Brooklyn blaze

A Brooklyn apartment building was destroyed in a raging fire that injured three firefighters and took 2 1/2 hours to put out early Monday, authorities said.

The blaze started on the first floor of the Bay Ridge building at about 1:40 a.m. and quickly spread throughout the three-story building, scorching an adjacent condo, the FDNY said.

“The flames were rising from the house on fire towards the condo building,” said neighbor PJ Landers, 46, who warned the residents of the Dahlgren Place condo.

“My sons knocked on the windows to wake people up and get them out, and I ran inside and got six of the families out.”
