DNA lock-up

Police used DNA evidence to cuff a perp suspected of robbing two South Brooklyn bars at gunpoint in September, 2007.

Cops used forensic evidence from a .45 caliber weapon and a black ski mask recovered at the scene of the robberies to connect the crimes — one of which occurred at the bar Moonshine on Columbia Street — to a 30-year-old Bronx resident.

Officers cuffed the suspect on Sept. 11. He’s the second man arrested in connection with the robberies, which involved Moonshine and the Bait and Tackle.

Gunman nabbed

Cops interrupted an armed mugging on Sept. 10 and nabbed a perp suspected in the robbery.

Officer Oliver Lopez was driving on Baltic Street between Bond and Hoyt streets at around 2:20 pm when he spotted a pair of crooks in the middle of a stick-up. When the robbers saw the police, one of them threw a loaded semi-automatic weapon to the sidewalk and fled.

But Lopez was able to recover the gun and apprehend a suspect — who was charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, according to police reports.

Chair-man

Thieves ransacked a Baltic Street residence late on Sept. 11 and stole everything they could carry — even a chair.

The crooks got into the unit between 7:30 pm and 12:40 the following morning and heisted a credit card, ID, T-Mobile Sidekick cellphone, ring, and a chair.

Police said no force was used to get into the residence, which is between Bond and Hoyt streets.

Columbia attack

Two thugs fractured a 55-year-old’s jaw in a brutal Sept. 9 mugging on Columbia Street.

The perps put the victim in a chokehold as he exited his building near the corner of W. Ninth Street at around 6 pm and struck him in the mouth with a blunt object, leaving the victim with an injury that required treatment at Long Island College Hospital.

The crooks then grabbed $20 and a set of keys and fled.

Congressional crook

A burglar raided a Congress Street apartment on Sept. 11.

The thief got into the residence, which is near the corner of Henry Street, through a kitchen window between 2 and 5:45 pm.

Once inside, the crook snatched a Sony camera, $100 and a Nike bag.

Boerum brawl

Police locked up a 16-year-old girl suspected of striking a woman in the face with an umbrella during a Sept. 9 scuffle in Boerum Park.

The perp allegedly clubbed the victim with the parasol at around 8 pm in the open space on Baltic Street between Hoyt and Smith streets, leaving her with a laceration to the face and an injury to the eye.

But cops say they nabbed the teen who committed the attack.
