‘SNL’ misses election

Blame Sarah Palin — not the f-bomb incident — for a drop in the ratings for last weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” season opener.

This year’s first show was down by more than one-third compared to last year, when Tina Fey made her first appearance as Palin on the weekly sketch show.

Still, “SNL” was the highest-rated show of the night, beating everything in primetime that night — which is saying a lot for a show that starts at 11:30 p.m.

The show’s producer, Lorne Michaels, indicated yesterday there would be no disciplinary action against new cast member Jenny Slate, who uttered the f-word during a live skit, apparently by accident.
