Cops free pups stuck in truck

Two British bulldogs were rescued by police yesterday morning after a ruff night locked inside a car.

Officers from the 10th Precinct responded to a 911 call around 10 a.m. yesterday after concerned residents noticed the pooches had been in a gray SUV for at least 10 hours.

After lapping up some water, the canines were taken to the station house, police said.

“They were happy. They were wagging their tails,” a witness said. “One of them was a little scared. But they were not skinny or underfed.”

The owner of the dogs returned to his car early yesterday afternoon, screaming, “Where are they?”

Police didn’t charge or fine him because the dogs were in good health. He was later reunited with his pets at Animal Care and Control.
