12-year-old NYschoolgirl put in handcuffs for doodling on her desk

A 12-year-old girl was put in metal handcuffs and taken to a police station for doodling with an erasable marker on her school desk in New York, it was revealed on Friday.

Alexa Gonzalez, a seventh grader at Junior High School 190 in Forest Hills, was even patted down by officers, MyFox National reported.

She was suspended when an offending item – Wite-Out – was found in her pockets.

Alexa’s mother was stunned after hearing the news and said she could not believe the nightmare her daughter went through.

In a statement the Department of Education said: “The JHS 190 principal in Queens is reaching out to the parent today and has lifted the suspension.

“The student is returning to her classes.”
