It doesn’t look as if Osi Umenyiora will be traded away from New York, but the Giants defensive end says LeBron James shouldn’t come here.
ESPN.com reported that Umenyiora used his blog at PlaymakerMobile.com to offer the NBA free agent-to-be the advice.
“I know New York would love to have him and I’m sure Knicks fans hope he comes,” Umenyiora wrote yesterday, according to the report.
“Personally, I think he should stay in Cleveland. They need him and he’s a Cleveland guy. It would be great to have him in New York but I think he should stay there. Ultimately, he has to make the decision that’s best for him and his family.”

The Super Bowl champion also warned of the pressures the superstar would face playing in the Big Apple.
“I will say this, if he does come to New York, don’t have a bad game,” Umenyiora wrote. “Not one because Knicks fans will come down on him.
“There is no better place to be when you’re winning than New York. And there’s no better place to be than New York, it’s a great city with great energy. But it does go both ways. When you lose, it’s tough.”
Umenyiora reportedly has been unhappy with the Giants since late last season, at different junctures threatening to retire or trying for a trade.
He wrote on the blog Monday that despite the rumors, “I’m focused on working and want to do all I can to help this team win games.”
