First lady of fashion’s sexy look is blue stately

Talk about making waves!

First Lady Michelle Obama caused a stir at the White House state dinner with a stunning new look more fit for a screen siren than a first lady.

Her new tousled do was fresh, modern, red-carpet goddess instead of helmet-haired Washington wife.

Her shimmering peacock-blue, one-shouldered gown by designer Peter Soronen was all showbiz.

And by boldly cinching it with a trademark rhinestone belt, Mrs. Obama was showcasing her creativity, confidence and fashion cred.

The gown’s length and shape couldn’t have been more flattering.

With a hem hitting just below the ankle, pleats accentuating her waist and a neckline that showed just a hint of cleavage, the president’s partner proved you can be sexy and stately at the same time.

She also chose her accessories like a master strategist.

Silver drop earrings enhanced her pavé studded belt, and she didn’t put a foot wrong in her sparkly peep-toe sandals, which boasted a just-right heel height that didn’t overshadow the leader of the free world.

Even her petal-pink manicure perfectly complemented her blush-hued lips.

Mrs. Obama chose cobalt — the color of the gala season — for this event and it made her stand out among run-of-the-mill black-tie wear.

She must have known it worked, because she chose a daringly deep azure eye shadow to match.

It’s no secret that blue is a royal hue. So, trend-setting subjects, it’s time to bow down. All hail Queen Michelle!
