No TNT rescue for ‘L&O’

If “Law & Order” does have a second life, it won’t be on TNT.

NBC’s cancellation of its trailblazer, after 20 seasons, has spurred talk that show creator Dick Wolf isn’t giving up getting the show on the air — somewhere — in order to get a record-setting 21st season.

TNT had been rumored as a possible destination — it picked up NBC’s cancelled “Southland” — but the network shot down those rumors yesterday.

“We are not in current talks, and we are not interested in a Season 21,” the network said in a statement to the LA Times.

Wolf wants very badly to break the record shared by “L&O” and “Gunsmoke” for the longest-running drama in TV history.

NBC’s new “L&O” spinoff, set in LA, premieres this fall.
