Starr report

Books . . . FNC’s Jamie Colby has written “Back to Life After a Heart Crisis” with her husband, Dr. Marc Wallack, a cancer surgeon (and marathon runner) who under went unexpected quadruple-bypass surgery when his arte ries were discovered to be 95 percent blocked. It’s timely, es pecially with former president Bill Clinton’s emergency heart procedure last week.

And an unexpected plug . . . The folks at IDP/Samuel Goldwyn Films were pleas antly surprised when the movie “The Yellow Handker chief” was mentioned on last Thursday’s “30 Rock,” when Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) appeared on Elizabeth Banks’ (fictional) CNBC show. The movie (dis tributed by Goldwyn) opens Feb. 26 with stars Kristen Stewart, Maria Bello and William Hurt.

Speaking of movies, I wonder if TBS’ “Lopez Tonight” will get a ratings bump, what with host George Lopez one of the many co- stars of “Valentine’s Day,” which opened this past week end on the big screen. Since its premiere last November, “Lopez Tonight” (11 p.m.) has averaged 1.3 million viewers and is outdelivering “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and Craig Ferguson’s “Late Late Show” in adults 18-34 and 18-49 (with the caveat that “Kimmel” and “Late Late Show” air at 12:05 and 12:35 a.m., respectively).

Last, but not least:

* “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” premiered to the franchise’s best viewership (14.1 million) since 2007 . . . Congrats to “Today” pro ducer Jayme Baron and hus band Ken on the arrival of Samantha Blake . . . Industry vet Tom Bettag joins CNN as senior EP . . . The BBC’s “Emma” (Romola Garai, Michael Gambon) is out on DVD . . . Online voting for DIY’s “Blog Cabin” series begins today (diynet work.com). . . Congrats to Ch. 2’s Megan Glaros and husband Lance Bruggeman on the arrival of Lana.
