It could be ‘Arrested’ for a second time

There’s a new development in the “Arrested” saga.

Arrested Development” executive producer Brian Grazer says he’s talking to Netflix about a second season of the series, which was revived on the streaming service after ending its three-season run on Fox back in 2006.

“We are in conversations with them to do another,” Grazer said during an interview with Bloomberg Television. “They are interested in doing that.”

It’s difficult to gauge how the revived version of “Arrested” performed on Netflix, which does not measure its TV shows in terms of viewership.

But the company was obviously pleased with the rebooted version of eight episodes, which were released in May and featured all the stars of the original Fox series — including Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Jessica Walter, David Cross, Will Arnett and Portia de Rossi.

Because of scheduling conflicts, the new episodes were told from different characters’ points of view, allowing certain actors to be left out of certain episodes.

While Netflix might be interested in more “Arrested” episodes, it remains to be seen if Grazer, executive producer Ron Howard and series creator Mitch Hurwitz would be able to corrall all of the cast again — or even if any or all of them would commit to the project.
