Knicks president Walsh to skip Vegas trip

Knicks president Donnie Walsh said he won’t make the trip to Las Vegas for the final five days of the summer league team.

Walsh says it is unrelated to his health woes as he rehabs from neck surgery and is in a wheelchair, though vanity figures to have something to do with skipping Vegas.

Walsh’s three second-round picks and Toney Douglas and Bill Walker are on the team, and most team executives are there.

Still looking at potential trades with $2 million left in cap space, Walsh will conduct work from New York. Walsh has denied Peter Vecsey’s report that he will retire this month.

Walsh also will announce today the signing of 7-foot-1 Russian center Timofey Mozgov in another blow to Nets billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov. “I think he’s a great prospect,” Walsh said. The Sunday Post first reported the imminent signing.
