‘Downtown Abbey’ creators planning Churchill series

The production company responsible for “Downton Abbey” is prepping a TV series about Winston Churchill.

Carnival Films, which is owned by NBC Universal, has optioned Michael Shelden’s book, “Young Titan,” which it will develop into a series.

The show will launche first in the UK before premiering in the US and other markets, according to deadline.com.

Shelden’s book was published last March and tells the story of Churchill’s life covering the period from 1901 to 1915, according to the report.

The project has no cast or airdate yet.
