A-Rod set to talk with FBI tomorrow

TAMPA — Alex Rodriguez is reportedly headed to Buffalo tomorrow for an FBI meeting about his involvement with controversial doctor Anthony Galea, who is in the center of drug investigations in the U.S. and Canada. But neither A-Rod nor manager Joe Girardi is expecting it to result in an extended camp absence.

Rodriguez, who had two hits and two RBIs in the Yankees’ 3-1 win over the Nationals last night, will be with the team again today, and Girardi said he also expects him to play Saturday.

“From what I read and understand, we may not have him on Friday,” Girardi said.

So, at least for now, Rodriguez’s FBI issues are not being viewed as too much of a disruption for the Yankees.

“If he’s not worried about it, then it’s nothing to worry about,” Jorge Posada said.

Rodriguez, not surprisingly, didn’t address the situation yesterday, saying he only would answer “baseball questions” in response to how this affects his baseball schedule or if he won’t be in camp later this week.

Rodriguez was then asked if he would play today or tomorrow.

“Well, I’m definitely playing [today],” he said.

The Yankees don’t believe this meeting will cause a major disruption.

“It’s disruptive in the sense that he won’t be here Friday,” Girardi said. “But beyond that, I’m not too concerned.”
