CHSAA baseball roundup: DelGiacco’s ‘D’ gets Regis ‘W’

Jerry DelGiacco was a one-man wrecking crew, going 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBIs, while recording seven putouts in centerfield to lead Regis to a 7-4 win against St. Peter’s Thursday afternoon at Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island.

Rob Mohen allowed one earned run on five hits in four innings to earn the win, while James Toohey gave up two earned runs on four hits in the three-inning save for Regis (3-0). Dom Morano was 3-for-4 with one RBI, Joe DiMauro was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Nick Lufrano also drove in a run for St. Peter’s (0-3).

St. Raymond’s 5, Cardinal Hayes 0: Senior left-hander Kevin Juarbe scattered five hits and struck out four in six scoreless innings and Luis Paniagua had a pair of hits to lead St. Raymond’s (2-2) at Ravens Field Thursday afternoon. Cardinal Hayes falls to 2-2.

Fordham Prep 9, All Hallows 6: Sal Annunziata was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Elias Tsouristakis had a single and an double and Dan Turner had a pair of hits and scored two runs, Alex Depasquale picked up the win, going 5 2/3 innings, while Matt DiLecce tossed 1 1/3 innings of relief to earn the save for Fordham Prep (3-1) Thursday in The Bronx. All Hallows fell to 2-2.

St. Edmund Prep 5, Christ the King 0: John Browning needed just 80 pitches in a complete-game shutout, while Chris Pacifico drove in two runs for St. Edmund Prep (1-2) Thursday afternoon in Brooklyn. Christ the King falls to 0-3.
