Oscar-winning producer Lisa Blount found dead in Little Rock home

Academy Award-winning producer Lisa Blount was found dead in her Little Rock home at the age of 53, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported Thursday.

Blount — who also worked as an actor and was nominated for a Golden Globe for playing the role of Lynette Pomeroy alongside Debra Winger and Richard Gere in the 1982 film “An Officer and a Gentleman” — was found dead by her mother Wednesday.

Blount’s mother discovered her body lying face up on her bed, clutching a cell phone. Blood was found seeping from her nostrils, according to details from the police report.

Blount had suffered for 17 years from a condition similar to multiple sclerosis and had recently been experiencing neck and back pain, her mother told police.

Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper believes Blount died on Monday and does not suspect foul play.

Blount and her husband Ray McKinnon won the Academy Award for Live Action Short Film for their 2001 film “The Accountant.”

McKinnon was out of town in Atlanta at the time of his wife’s death.
