PSAL boys basketball roundup: Transit Tech picks up first league win

Sophomore Matthew Banton sank six 3-pointers and scored 20 points as Transit Tech knocked off Grady, 83-67, to pick up its first win in Brooklyn AA Thursday night. Richard Williams also scored 20 points and Anthony Prescott added 19 for the Express (1-3), which snapped a three-game losing streak by outscoring the Falcons (0-4), 55-26, in the second half.

No. 1 Boys & Girls 94, No. 8 Robeson 62: Mike Taylor had 23 points and nine rebounds, Leroy (Truck) Fludd notched 20 points and 11 rebounds, Malik Nichols added 18 points and 15 rebounds and Antione Slaughter had 19 points and 12 assists for Boys & Girls (4-0) in Brooklyn AA. Darrel Lucky paced Robeson (2-2) with a game-high 29 points.

No. 2 Lincoln 77, South Shore 66: Shaquille Stokes had 23 points and seven assists and Isaiah Whitehead followed with 17 points and four rebounds for Lincoln (3-0) in Brooklyn AA. South Shore fell to 0-4.

No. 3 Thomas Jefferson 81, George Westinghouse 67: Jaquan Lynch sank four 3-pointers and scored 20 points, Shamel Williams had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Davontay Grace had 11 points and 10 assists for Thomas Jefferson (3-0) in Brooklyn AA. Westinghouse is 2-2.

No. 4 Wings Academy 75, Lehman 36: Deonte Houston had 24 points and nine assists and Gerrell Martin had 21 points for Wings Academy (4-0) in Bronx AA. Lehman is 0-4.

No. 5 Cardozo 100, Thomas Edison 47: Tyrel Hunt scored a team-high 22 points, Shelton Mickell scored 17 points off the bench, Chris Gayot had 11 points and eight asssists and Jermaine Lawrence had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Cardozo (2-0). Edison is 1-3.

No. 7 Bayside 68, Flushing 43: William Dobie put up 23 points and Uzonna Akazi notched 15 for Bayside (3-0). Flushing is 1-3.

No. 10 Wadleigh 102, West 50th Street 65: Basily Harley scored a team-high 24 points, Trivante Bloodman added 22 and Louis Costen had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Wadleigh (3-1). West 50th is 0-4.

CLASS A

George Washington 50, FDA 47: Michael Reyes scored 16 points and Justin Parham grabbed 15 rebounds for George Washington (3-2) in Manhattan A Northwest. FDA is now 2-2.

Environmental Science 72, NEST 58: Daquan Fogle had 35 points and Tyrie Hall added 15 for Environmental Science (1-1) in Manhattan B-2. NEST is 2-2.

Roosevelt 79, American Sign Language 56: Erando Halilaj had 25 points, 15 rebounds and four assists, Robert Borusiewicz added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Russell Peterson Woody had nine points and 11 assists for Roosevelt (4-0) in Manhattan B-1. American Sign Language is 0-4.

East Harlem Pride 78, Life Sciences 54: Ivan Morales and Daniel Brito scored 20 points apiece and Lazarus Bennett had 19 for East Harlem Pride (3-0) in Manhattan B-2. Life Science is 1-2.
