A hot bod and its body count

Don’t mess with Angela, the title character in the Russian thriller “Alien Girl.”

She may be cute and petite, but she holds her own against sleazy mobsters in 1990s Ukraine.

Her brother is a gangster, and he’s about to tell all to the police. Four thugs are dispatched to Prague, where Angela is working in the sex trade. The plan is to bring the woman back to Kiev, where she will be held hostage in hopes that her bro will change his mind.

The plan sets off a bloody battle between rival gangs — whose members have colorful names such as Rasp, Whiz, Kid, Beef and Booger — with street-savvy Angela playing one against the other.

Be prepared for bloody shootouts that leave corpses scattered every which way, plus sweaty sex on trains and elsewhere.

Natalia Romanycheva is hot as Angela. (Her chopped-off, dark hair brings to mind Anne Parillaud in 1990’s “La Femme Nikita”). A theater actress, she was chosen by “Alien Girl” director Anton Bormatov because, say the production notes, she has a “fresh face.”

But it’s other, more erotic parts of her body that get the most on-screen attention.

In his feature debut, Bormatov doesn’t much bother with things like character development, relying instead on raw brutality, profanity and sex. It shouldn’t be long before the Hollywood remake with Angelina Jolie.

You’ll want to stick around for the closing credits of “Alien Girl,” in which the lead characters are identified while lying on morgue slabs.
