Uma Thurman’s stalker jailed following new charges

A Manhattan judge tossed Uma Thurman’s psychotic stalker back in jail without bail this afternoon, pending the resolution of new contempt of court charges for allegedly continuing to call her home and cell phones in October.

Jack Jordan, 39, of Maryland, suffers serious mental illness and has no ties to New York, prosecutor Michelle Kaminsky said in arguing that no bail would insure his return to court.

Jordan even threatened one of the inadvertent recipients of his phone calls Kaminsky said.

“During one of the phone calls to a house guest…the defendant became very agitated and asked the house guest to step outside,” the prosecutor said. It was yet unclear if Jordan was in New York at the time, the prosecutor said.

“This defendant has serious psychiatric issues,” she told the judge. “He has been diagnosed in the past with psychosis.”

Jordan told cops the calls were all a drunken misunderstanding.

“The defendant inquired if he was wanted in New York and stated that he had made a mistake,” according to court papers released today. “He went on to explain that he got drunk and made a series of phone calls to try to speak with Uma Thurman.”

A department of probation lawyer joined in the request that no bail be set.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro took Jackson’s not guilty plea and ordered him held pending his next court date, Dec. 22.

The judge declined to put Jordan in protective custody, despite defense lawyer Paul Feinman’s urging that Jordan would face more threats of physical violence from inmates, as he during his last incarceration.

The bearded stalker sat in court in rumpled jeans and a brown thermal hoody, his eyes intense. He furrowed his brow and seemed to flush red as he read through an order of protection he was required to sign, ordering him to have no contact, direct or indirect, with the actress.

He was first convicted of stalking and harassing Thurman in 2008, after some three years of sending disturbing e-mails to her professor dad and packets of creepy writings and drawings to the actress.

Jordan even drove from California and camped out in his car near her home in August 2007.

In the latest alleged contact attempts, Jordan called Thurman’s home phone, demanding to know the actress’ whereabouts, sources said. The next day, he allegedly rang Thurman’s personal mobile phone, which the assistant also answered.

Jordan allegedly said the leggy blonde’s Swiss businessman boyfriend, Arpad Busson, was “not good enough” and that “she should marry me.”

It’s unclear how he got Thurman’s number.
