Hevesi asks for new pay2play pension judge

Disgraced former comptroller Alan Hevesi wants a new judge for his March 28 sentencing in the state pension Pay-to-Play scandal.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Lewis Bart Stone represents the estranged father of Hevesi lawyer Bradley Simon, in an estate matter that in part involves Simon’s inheritance, Simon argued earlier this month.

Stone has denied a conflict of interest, but also said that another judge would handle the sentencing if he does decide to withdraw. Hevesi faces anywhere from no jail to up to four years prison for admittedly giving funds preferential access to the pension in return for $1 million in gifts and fees.
