Phony doc pleads guilty to rape, sexual assault, gets 6 years

A phony doctor who molested and raped women who came to him for holistic cancer treatment pleaded guilty today and skated away with a six-year sentence – half of which he’s served while awaiting trial.

Michail Sorodsky, 63, pleaded guilty to 20 charges – including 11 counts of aggravated sexual abuse and one count of first-degree rape — of an 102-count indictment as jury selection was about to begin in his trial in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Sorodsky, who was being held on the astonishing bail of $11 million cash or $33 million bond, faced an astronomical amount of time even after the plea — the sentence for his rape conviction alone could have been 25 years.

The Attorney General’s office, which prosecuted the case, objected in court to the mercy meted out by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Guy Mangano.

“As expressed in court, our office strongly disagrees with the sentence and is exploring all possible avenues to ensure this defendant will never harm others again,” said Lauren Passalacqua, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

The Attorney General’s office said previously it intend to pursue civil confinement of Sorodsky upon his release from prison.

Sorodsky’s lawyer said the prosecution’s case was riddled with holes and that a conviction no sure thing.

“Under the Cuomo administration, these same prosecutors offered Mr. Sorodsky a plea for five years to reduced charges,” lawyer Aaron Mysliwiec told The Post. “The judge’s offer was the harshest plea offer that Mr. Sorodsky’s been given in the case.”
