Necklace allegedly stolen by Lindsay Lohan to go up for auction

LOS ANGELES – The pricey necklace allegedly stolen by Lindsay Lohan is set to hit the auction block, according to media reports.

“We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity,” the jeweler, Kamofie & Co., said about the fate of the infamous bijou.

The $2,500 gold necklace, allegedly taken by Lohan during a January visit, will not be sold until her trial for the alleged theft is wrapped up.

Lohan has been charged with one count of felony grand theft in the case of the missing necklace. She was offered a plea deal, that would include three to six months in jail, that she will reportedly turn down.

The 24-year-old has until Thursday to officially deny the deal and wants to take her chances with a trial, sources told TMZ.com.

Lohan said surveillance video of her January 22 visit to the boutique proves her innocence.

Earlier this week, Kamofie & Co. sold the surveillance footage of Lohan to “Entertainment Tonight” for $40,000, according to the celebrity website.

Dina Lohan, the mother of the troubled actress, said she is pursuing legal action against Kamofie & Co. for profiting from Lindsay’s image without permission.

“Once again, celebrities are faced with the possibilities of their normal daily activity being filmed and sold without their knowledge and their consent, and our family is looking into formal legal action,” Dina Lohan told Radar Online Tuesday.
