Cold comfort

If threatening notes and stealth-dosing with laxatives haven’t worked, it may be time to bring the war against office food thieves to the next level.

Enter the Fridge Locker, a combination-locked plastic cage designed to keep your ham-on-ryes and Cobb salads safe from pilfering co-workers.

It’s the brainchild of Kevin Alan, who runs a small finance firm in southern Nevada. When Alan started bringing food to work in an effort to eat better, he found that his yogurts and protein shakes kept disappearing.

“People see six yogurts sitting there and think, he’s not going to miss one,” he told @work.

He had an inspiration, and last year launched a product that’s since been sold in Sweden and featured on Japanese TV. It’s $19.99 at fridgelocker.com, where there’s a two-for-one deal on offer along with a breathless, But wait, there’s more!-style video pitch.
