Big East gets 11 teams in NCAA tournament

For the first time in NCAA tournament history 11 teams from one conference qualified for the Big Dance.

Eleven of the Big East’s 16 team received an invitation to the Big Dance Sunday night with regular season champ Pittsburgh getting the top seed in the Southeast Region, while tournament winner Kemba Walker and Connecticut got a No. 3 seed in the West Region.

Notre Dame (No. 2 in Southwest), Louisville (No. 4 in Southwest), Syracuse (No. 3 in East), St. John’s (No. 6 in Southeast), West Virginia (No. 5 in East), Cincinnati (No. 6 in the West), Georgetown (No. 6 in Southwest), Villanova (No. 9 in the East), and Marquette (No. 11 in the East) will be joining them.
