Raging Chris a buster Brown

The hits just keep on coming from Chris Brown.

The R&B star flew into a destructive, shirtless rage at ABC’s Times Square studios yesterday after a “Good Morning America” anchor peppered him with questions about slapping around Grammy-winning ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

“That wasn’t cool, man! That wasn’t cool,” Brown said as he stormed off the set, a source told The Post.

After the interview with show co-anchor Robin Roberts, Brown darted into a dressing room, ripped off his shirt and threw a metal chair at a window with such force that shards of glass rained down on Broadway and 43rd Street.

He bolted bare-chested from ABC into the Times Square crowd before being whisked away in a car.

After his meltdown, Brown tweeted: “I’m so over people bringing this past s–t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for there [sic] bulls–t.”

Brown, 21, hoped to steer the interview to his new album, “F.A.M.E.,” which was released yesterday. But Roberts instead repeatedly asked about his legal woes since he slapped around the songstress in 2009.

A source said Brown had been told beforehand that he would be asked about Rihanna and that he had no problem with it.

On air, the singer appeared composed. But once the interview was over, “he was ballistic,” said a source.

Brown, who had brought an entourage of about 20 people with him to the morning show, stormed into his dressing room and demanded the door be closed.

“He was really mad,” said the source. “He was screaming and very upset.”

After he smashed the window, scared staffers alerted ABC security. “He went insane,” said a “GMA” source who caught the latter half of Brown’s blowup. “Who does that?”

The singer also blew off a performance he was supposed to do for the network’s Web site.

On the way out, he and producer Brandon Bodow engaged in a brief stare-down, but staffers got between them before any words or blows were exchanged.

“He looked like he had just stepped out of an episode of ‘Cops,’ ” laughed a “GMA” staffer.

The rampaging R&B singer returned to his room at the Trump SoHo hotel and emerged a few hours later looking — and acting — like a new man.

Wearing a shirt and jacket, Brown crept out of the hotel through a back entrance and walked into an art gallery on Spring Street.

He said nothing to a Post reporter as he entered the gallery and smiled at onlookers who recognized him.

Through a window, he could be seen perusing paintings by Sas Christian, known for her colorful paintings of women.

Later, in yet another tweet, Brown wrote: “Thank you to everyone who supports my music!!! Key Word (music)!!! Love y’all.”

He later turned up at the famed West Fourth Street basketball courts known as “The Cage.”

Wearing a tank-top and long red shorts, the platinum-haired singer looked nothing like the legends who made that court famous — including Dr. J.

A photo was quickly posted to Twitter with the line: “Chris Brown getting trash-talked by the crowd. Missing every shot.”

Onlooker Mathew Jacobowitz said Brown did sink his fair share of three-pointers during his two hours of playing, but he also got his fair share of the business from a homeless spectator.

“He was the only one just heckling him, really being obnoxious,” shouting things like “I love Rihanna,” Jacobowitz said, adding that the man was quieted down by Brown’s entourage.

The “Kiss Kiss” singer capped his busy day by attending an album-launch party in his honor at Webster Hall — where he was paid $40,000 just to show up.

He took the stage at 1 a.m. today and told the ecstatic crowd, “I love y’all, we’re gonna forget about the media.”

“I wasn’t planning on performing tonight, but f- -k it,” he said as he began his show. He was soon joined by rappers Bow Wow and Waka Flocka Flame and performed for about 30 minutes.

After a break, he came out for another set with rapper Lloyd Banks.

Brown was also supposed to do an interview on MTV last night, but canceled after the morning meltdown. A source at the cable network said he was told Brown bailed because he did not want to deal with the possibility of answering questions on live TV about the GMA incident.

It’s unclear what — if any — legal ramifications Brown might face from his tantrum.

The NYPD was never called, sources said, and ABC officials declined to press charges.

Had the network called the cops, it could have landed Brown back in jail for criminal mischief and violating his probation, which runs through 2014, law-enforcement sources said.

A California judge last month downgraded a restraining order that had barred Brown from contacting Rihanna, but warned him that he is not allowed to harass the 23-year-old singer.

An ABC News source said Roberts had pressed Brown on Rihanna because she had been slammed by critics for going “soft” on Tiger Woods in an interview last week.

Brown had been under the impression that he would be asked only one question about the Rihanna incident.

After the show, Roberts tweeted: “Sure has been an interesting AM @GMA. Still sorting thru everything myself. Just my 2nd day on twitter, wonder what tomorrow will bring?”

In a statement, ABC officials said, “As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that’s what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown.”
