Warhol portrait could fetch $30M on block

A portrait of Elizabeth Taylor by Andy Warhol could fetch as much as $30 million when it hits the auction block in Midtown in May.

“Liz #5” was painted in 1963 and is “a dazzling tribute to Elizabeth Taylor,” officials at the auction house, Phillips de Pury, said yesterday.

Taylor, 79, died Wednesday.

” ‘Liz #5’ is a pristine gem,” said Michael McGinnis, head of contemporary art at Phillips de Pury.

Last year, the same auction house sold a Warhol featuring Taylor for $63.4 million.

The work, titled “The Men in Her Life,” featured Taylor with third husband Mike Todd and future husband Eddie Fisher. It was the second-highest price for the artist at auction.
