Radiation more than 4,000 times the safety limit found in seawater around Japan plant

TOKYO — Radioactive iodine 4,385 times the safety standard was found in seawater around Japan’s troubled Fukushima nuclear plant, NHK reported Thursday.

The measurement, recorded by Japan’s nuclear safety body, is the highest yet since the plant was thrown into crisis by the destructive and deadly March 11 earthquake and following tsunami.
