Serial-kill searchers eye Nassau

His graveyard may grow.

Cops said yesterday they’ll widen the search for victims of the Long Island serial killer into Nassau County, combing the remote stretch of waterfront to the west of where eight sets of human remains have already been found.

“Early next week we’re going to be searching on our side [of the county line] in the same area,” a Nassau County police spokesman told The Post.

Cops suspect there may be more bodies in the area.

The development came after Suffolk cops and cadaver dogs spent another frustrating day combing dense underbrush along Gilgo and Oak beaches — coming up empty. They have searched a 7½-mile stretch so far.

“Nothing significant has been found,” Suffolk Police Inspector Stuart Cameron said.

Searchers used tower trucks from area fire departments, putting homicide detectives in baskets so they could look down into the underbrush.

Cops have not identified the latest victims, one found last week and three on Monday, except to say that missing Craigslist call girl Shannan Gilbert, 24, of New Jersey was not among them.

“The thought of a serial killer leaving bodies on the beachfront is disturbing,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, “and we hope that identification can be effectuated as soon as possible.”
