Cops are looking for a man who they allege held up two banks and tried to rob two more in a spree that spanned Harlem and the Upper East Side.

Thomas Smith allegedly began the bank-heist spree at the Capital One branch on Third Avenue on the Upper East Side at 5:30 p.m. on July 11, passing a teller a note demanding cash, cops said.

He struck again on July 15 at about 5:15 p.m., entering a Sovereign branch on the Upper West Side and passing a demand note, cops said.

The heists totaled about $1,800, sources said.

Smith’s luck took a turn for the worse when he walked into a Bank of America branch on Third Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on July 22.

He fled empty-handed when the clerk refused to hand over cash, cops said.

He struck out again on July 23 when an equally intrepid teller at a Bank of America branch on Broadway walked away when he handed her a note, according to police.

Smith stands about 5-foot-6 and weighs approximately 180 pounds, cops said.

Brooklyn

A man slipped into an East New York cemetery and took an unattended van for a joyride while the groundskeeper was using the restroom, sources said.

Elquan Jones, 20, allegedly entered the Evergreen Cemetery at Conway Street and Bushwick Avenue at about 4:40 p.m. Monday.

The front gate was locked but the GMC 2500 van was not.

The sources said that when a groundskeeper went into the restroom, Jones jumped behind the wheel of the van and sped off, the sources added.

The groundskeeper called 911, and cops soon found Jones nearby.

He was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

A 55-year-old man was in police custody in Bay Ridge in connection with a vandalism spree targeting three churches, three cars, two houses, a Jewish center, a prep school and a Bank of America branch, cops said.

The suspect, whose name authorities had not released as of late yesterday, began the spree at St. Anselm’s Church, where he spray-painted statues of Jesus and Mary, police said.

He then hit the Bay Ridge Jewish Center, the Union Lutheran Church, the Holy Cross Orthodox Church and Bay Ridge Prep, where he scrawled the word “no” and drew X’s, circles and lines on doors, sidewalks and mailboxes, cops said.

He also spray-painted two houses on 84th Street, a bank branch on Third Avenue and license plates on three cars, police added.

He was caught after a dog walker spotted the painted statues at St. Anselm’s at about 3:20 a.m. yesterday and cops obtained surveillance video from the Jewish center.

Charges were pending late yesterday.

The Bronx

A man was arrested for breaking into his baby mama’s Williamsbridge apartment and attacking her, authorities said.

Mikie Alberto, 26, climbed up a fire escape and crawled into the Matthews Avenue apartment through a window at 6:45 p.m. on July 21, grabbed the woman by the neck, snatched her cellphone and repeatedly hit her with it, a Criminal Court complaint charges.

Alberto was arrested that day on charges of burglary, assault, trespass, weapons possession and harassment.

Staten Island

Cops arrested a suspect in the slaying of a reputed member of the Bloods gang in Clifton, cops said.

Christopher Wells, 30, was arrested Monday night in The Bronx and brought to Staten Island, where he was charged with killing Victorious Briggs, 22, at a late-night cookout at about 4:30 a.m. on July 21, according to cops.

Wells allegedly opened fire on Briggs, whose body was riddled with about a dozen bullets.

Briggs was pronounced dead at Staten Island University North Hospital.

Briggs, a member of a Bloods offshoot known as the Young Guns crew, had a gun in his waistband when he was shot, cops said.

After he was gunned down, one of his friends picked up the gun and fired back at Wells, but wild shots hit a 26-year-old woman in the hip and knee, cops said.

Wells was charged with murder.

Shoplifters robbed at least two Walgreens outlets of hair-growth products, razors and other items in Arden Heights and Emerson Hill, cops said.

Law-enforcement authorities said the suspects first walked into the outlet on Arthur Kill Road at 10 p.m. on July 13 and stole razor blades and medications including Benadryl and Advil, cops said.

The suspects struck 30 minutes later at the Walgreens on Manor Road, stealing more medication and a box of Rogaine, cops said.

Cops released photos of the suspects yesterday.
