Former 98 Degrees singer joins the Chippendales

LAS VEGAS — Jeff Timmons, who came to fame as a founding member of the boy band 98 Degrees, is getting ready to strip down as a guest performer with the Chippendales.

“The temperature will rise at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino [in Las Vegas] in May as Jeff Timmons…will flex his vocal chords and muscles for four weekends only,” the company of erotic male dancers announced in a statement late Monday.

Timmons will join the crew of tan, ripped and seductive show boys, who perform bare chested wearing tuxedo collars and cuffs before they rip off their pants, during a four week run in Sin City from May 12 to June 5.

“Sinful schoolboy charm and naughty fantasy colliding with the boy next door — this is the winning combination that has solidified Chippendales as the premier brand in women’s entertainment,” the company added in the statement.

Timmons joined band members Nick and Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffre to establish the platinum selling group in the nineties. The Grammy-nominated quartet sold over 10 million records during their five years together.

Once the band parted ways, Timmons pursued a solo career but his independent projects have received a tepid reaction from fans.

The 37-year-old is planning to release a new album this summer.
