Anthony Weiner’s wife Huma Abedin to take extended vacation from job with Hillary Clinton: report

Anthony Weiner’s wife Huma Abedin will take extended vacation time from her job with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she stands by her embattled husband in his race for City Hall.

POLITICO reported Abedin had loosely planned to vacation in August while the Clinton’s vacationed in Long Island.

“Huma is not taking a leave of absence, but she will be taking vacation time in August to support her family during Anthony’s campaign,” a Weiner campaign source told POLITICO.

“She had always intended to do this.”

Abedin was a top advisor to Clinton while she was Secretary of State and has been Clinton’s chief aide in her transition to her family’s foundation.

A former aide to President Bill Clinton said Anthony Weiner’s continuing sexting scandal has been “very painful” for the Clintons, who are close to the New York mayoral candidate’s wife.

Ex-press secretary Dee Dee Myers said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” it wasn’t a story anybody, particularly the Clintons, were happy to see dominate the news.

Myers later said she hadn’t spoken to the Clintons. She said she meant to say that like many others, the Clintons “would like to see the whole story go away.”
