Pia Toscano shrugs off ‘American Idol’ KO amid rumors of romance with dancer Mark Ballas

LOS ANGELES — Pia Toscano is getting over her “American Idol” heartbreak thanks to a blossoming romance with “Dancing with the Stars” pro Mark Ballas, TMZ reported Tuesday.

Viewers were left stunned when the poised and pitch-perfect New Yorker was voted off the show last week, setting off a storm of outrage on Twitter with everyone from “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki to Academy Award winner Tom Hanks weighing in on the surprising result.

Toscano traveled home to the Big Apple to mourn with her family and friends, while doing the morning talk show rounds, but the dumped diva is now heading back to the Golden State as a romance heats up with “Dancing with the Stars” heartthrob Ballas, sources told TMZ.

The singing and dancing duo were first spotted together in Los Angeles last weekend and now Toscano is reportedly set to enjoy additional time with Ballas and even meet his mom, British ballroom queen Shirley Ballas.

Mark is “totally into Pia and thinks she’s amazing,” a source told the celebrity news website.

“They’re totally smitten,” another insider added.

Despite her early exit from the FOX show, Toscano, 22, is reportedly in talks to seal an album deal with Interscope Records thanks to her overwhelming support from fans and high-profile media image.

“She is an amazing talent and this is probably going to turn out good for her,” Ballas, 24, told Entertainment Weekly Tuesday about his rumored love.

“There’s always light at the end of the tunnel and she’s got a ridiculously amazing voice and I think she’ll be fine,” he added, without dishing details of their relationship.

Ballas is currently paired with Disney star Chelsea Kane on season 12 of the ABC reality dance competition.

“American Idol” is broadcast on FOX, a News Corporation company that also owns NewsCore.
