Thug on the run after beating and robbing disabled woman

Police are looking for the twisted brute who first held open a door for a handicapped woman in Hamilton Heights and then beat and robbed her, authorities said.

The bait and switch was caught on camera July 15 around 2:30 p.m. when the 48-year-old woman was using a walker tried to enter the lobby of the Hamilton Place apartment building.

The suspect is seen holding the door open for the feeble woman before he switches gears and puts the woman in a chokehold.

He then threw her to the ground and stole two gold chains from around her neck, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
