Trump tied for GOP lead

In a hair-raising development, real-estate mogul Donald Trump is tied in the lead with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in a national poll of Republican voters asked whom they support for the GOP presidential nomination.

The Donald has nearly doubled his support since mid-March, according to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released yesterday.

Trump, who jumped from 10 percent just last month, and Huckabee are both commanding 19 percent of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents.

Trump has made headlines lately by relentlessly questioning whether President Obama is a US-born citizen.

Other potential GOP candidates are Sarah Palin, 12 percent; Mitt Romney, 11; Newt Gingrich, 11; Ron Paul, 7; and Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann, 5.
