‘Bean shoot

Here’s your first look at heavyweight boxing great Eric “Butterbean” Esch as a reserve deputy in the Jasper, Ala., Walker County Sheriff’s office.

Cameras followed the 416-pound boxer and his best friend/cop partner, Adam Hadder, as they patrolled their hometown in “Big Law: Deputy Butterbean,” premiering in August on Investigation Discovery.

You’ll ride along as the duo get involved in everything from narcotics raids to crowd control.

“I don’t get paid a dime to do the deputy sheriff stuff,” Bean says, “but I love it because I want to make Jasper a better place to live for my grandkids and children.”

“Bean” says that he hasn’t had to get physical on the job. “My size kind of intimidates people. Normally, people realize that it’s not a winning situation for them with me,” he says.

To those who liken “Big Law” to A&E’s “Steven Seagal: Lawman,” Bean says, “That’s like trying to compare the WWF to the ballet.”

“There’s no comparison, and my show is the WWF.”

Plus, you’ve also got Esch’s “charming good looks on top of everything.”
